I was once the anxious high-achiever who felt like I had to prove myself through successes, the illusion of perfection and people-pleasing. On the outside it looked like life was easy but on the inside – I was like a live wire!
I've walked the path of overcoming chronic pain, addiction, autoimmunity and burnout. Along the way, I strived for nervous system regulation which led to more burnout!Â

A Deeper Glimpse Into My Journey

My identity was totally wrapped up in my 'doing' (my career and my community). I felt like I had to prove myself in the world. No matter how much I contributed, it never felt like enough. Can you relate?Â
On paper I was successful and even looked confident on the outside, yet inside I couldn’t stop the critical chatter of my mind and the chronic pain in my body.Â
It took me 4x to crack the code and break the burnout cycle of go-go-go-collapse, rinse and repeat. 4x!Â
I didn't have a trusted professional that could connect all of the health dots. I was missing the nervous system framework and real-time resilience skills to manage the nonstop, high-stress environments.
It turns out that I had all of the lived and learned experience necessary to heal. I just needed to organize decades of science into actionable steps and follow the loving process to rewire my nervous system from swinging through fight, flight, functional freeze and collapse at the slightest of stress.
Now, I lean on my self-trust, flexibility and agency. Life isn't perfect yet I have so much more peace, ease and flow in life. I'm playful and open to experiencing the pleasures of life. I feel whole. I feel like enough.Â
In 2016, I authored and tested the SCAR program with mental health professionals with solid data outcomes and victories. Participants experienced increased self-compassion and decreased stress even three months after the program end.

I'M READY!“Before I walked in, I suffered from horrific anxiety that felt like a 500lb barbell was laying on my chest at all times. I didn’t know who I was in life anymore.Â
I didn’t like to be around people and hated to be in public spaces and was scared of everything. I was very short fused and angry with people. I felt I was never good enough and was in a constant “fight” mode from sunrise to sundown.
